I know what it’s like to feel stuck.
For years, I navigated challenges that may sound familiar. Feeling trapped in a high-pressure corporate career, I lived with persistent anxiety, sleep, and negative beliefs.
To cope, I developed habits that didn’t serve me, such as reaching for a drink or emotional eating. I was too ‘busy’ to prioritise my health.
Eventually, I hit a wall and completely burned out.
The shift that changed everything
Out of necessity, I hit the pause button. After years of traditional talk therapy, I discovered clinical hypnotherapy – it was transformative.
The tools I learned didn’t just analyse my past; they actively calmed my nervous system and helped me safely update the negative thought patterns holding me back.
I realised that most of my struggles weren’t about ‘who I was’—they were simply habitual patterns of behaviour I could change.
I learned three key distinctions:
- I am not my thoughts.
- I am not my feelings.
- I can choose how I respond to whatever life throws at me.
A different approach to therapy
Some therapists understandably choose to keep their personal life behind a curtain. I chose a different approach.
My personal journey is a source of strength as a therapist. It gives me a deeper, non-judgmental understanding of common challenges faced by my clients.
I found that therapy worked best for me when I talked to a real person who was honest about their own path, when I was given practical tools to use between sessions, and when I felt genuinely seen and heard, not just ‘treated’.
